Augmented Reality, one of the year’s hottest technology trends, has finally made its way into the sneaker world. Adidas is set to release five different models this February that will be equipped with a special chip in the tongue. This chip will allow the user to access a mini Adidas world when they go to the Adidas website and show the sneaker in front of a webcam. The user can then use the sneaker as a controller to explore the augmented reality, play games, etc. This is pretty cool technology…sort of scared to see what they come up with next. This is obviously a pretty huge marketing gimmick, but you gotta appreciate the technology…its pretty crazy. Check out the full article on Wired. The sneakers wont be super expensive either.
