"Stay classy, San Diego." You might remember those famous words from the super funny movie Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgandy that came out in 2004 starring funnyman from SNL Will Ferrell. No one is more stoked on these sneakers than I am; reciting lines from this movie is an everyday thing for me. These Nike SB Dunk Lows are mainly a beautiful shade of burgandy which is part of the tribute to the movie, playing on Ron's last name. The colorway is also an allusion to the character's suit in the film. The red suede is also complemented by gold swooshes on the sides and funky pattern around the heels and on the tongue of sneaker. This pattern is said to resemble the inner lining of the suit Ron Burgandy is famous for wearing. As always, I am stoked on the suede in these shoes. I am usually a sucker for vulcanized shoes and prefer them over normal soles anyday, but the Dunk Low is probably my 2nd favorite style of shoe for skating. The white sole of these shoes go well with the shite toecap and really make these sneakers pop. These shoes are scheduled to be released next month in August. Check out these pictures of some samples of one of the new Nike Dunk Lows that could be out in the near future...these are the Nike SB Dunk low Toxic Avenger. These sneakers are inspired by the famous film The Toxic Avenger, which was a pretty tight movie. The sides of the sneaker have a little insignia written right above the red swoosh...it is unclear as to whether it is pro snowboarder Gigi Rüf’s insignia on the sneaker. It could be foreshadowing of the future or present for the newest rider for Nike Snowboarding. Anyways, these are pretty dope sneakers...looks to be mostly leather with a light and dark brown side panel with a bright red Swoosh going through both browns. The heel has a nice bright yellow that goes along with the rim of the tongue. But the best part is perhaps the sole which is a bright yellow and neon green which is truly signature of that slimy superhero we all love. Look out for more info on these shoes soon.
Check out this newest Dunk Low from Nike SB, the Beijing. You might remember seeing something similar to this Dunk in the past because there has already been a midtop version of this sneaker that was also known as the Beijing. This is a really sick sneaker, the colorway is really catchy and pops right out at everyone. The side panels are a mix of teal and purple along the toecap and heel, and a teal swoosh. There are other tiny details throughout the shoe that make the shoe come alive such as tiny touches of gray along the heel, and red stitching along the sole and the swoosh...but perhaps my favorite aspect of this sneaker is the red shoelaces...It just stands out so much and draws so much attention to the sneaker. This shoe reminds me of the old basketball team, the Charlotte Hornets...perfect colors for that team. These bad boys are pretty limited so keep an eye out for these Nike SB Dunks in the sneaker store.
