Vans Era 59 “Tortoise Shell” Pack

Check out some of the newest releases from Vans, these two sneakers are part of the Era 59 Tortoise Shell pack and both of these sneakers look super sick. The Tortoise shell pack is a two release collection, this sneaker comes in either a black colorway or a navy blue colorway. These sneakers are dressed up in black or navy blue canvas upper, with leather accents on the tongue and heel tab. The plaid lining is a nice touch on these shoes. Vans Era, New Summer Collection for 2009

Vans is always looking real good, and you can’t really go wrong with their shoe, the Vans Era. It is basically the perfect summer shoe. It’s a nice light, lowtop sneaker that works great with or without laces. I prefer to wear these bad boys without socks as well…its a risky move, but it tends to work out. This summer’s line of Eras has many different models…basically a style anyone can get down with. Some of these are quite simple and traditional, which is really cool ( don’t like the too crazy colorways) and some get more intricate with creative stitching and the classic checkerboard pattern on the mid panels. These sneakers should be hittin the shelves sooner than later to get ready for the coming summer months. If you are still feeling green, don’t forget about the eco friendly Vans Authentics…green is always a good idea.

Vans x Usugrow AV Sk8-Low

Let me start off by saying that this might be one of the best looking sneakers I have ever laid my eyes upon. If I could explain and design my dream shoe, it might just be this one. I can not get enough out of a simple black and white sneaker, not to mention all of the little details and intricacies throughout the shoe that make it look that much tighter. Another reason why these sneakers are so hot is that they are AV Sk8-Lows which is one of the best sneakers I have ever skated in…they are very comfortable, grippy and durable…to any of you that are looking for skate shoes that look cool and are actually good for skating, these are the shoes for you, sir. They have a huge vulcanized sole which is sure to give you all the grip you need. Lets not forget that this is Anthony Van Engelen’s signature sneaker…you gotta go out and support that guy…or at least check out his newest part in the new Alien Workshop Full Length Video, Mindfield. But, anyways back to the sneakers…the little details in the side panels are really cool, it’s like a textured design which you can see in the photos. There is also a flower on the tongue which is just pretty…this whole shoe was inspired by the famous Japanese artist Usugrow, so it would make sense that there are some tattoo like elements throughout the shoe. These sneakers also come in a very special box, so if you are into collecting boxes as well as sneakers…these might be the perfect ones for you. Vans Vault Eco Pack, Chukka Boot LX

Alright, we have mentioned this ongoing Eco Pack that Vans has been putting a lot of effort into lately. We’ve already looked at one model from this collection, the Vans Eco Era LX. I think this is not only a great idea, but a great move on the part of Vans…capitalizing on all of this ‘going green’ excitement going around where ever you look…the sneakers don’t look too bad either. The sneaker consists of mostly a mix of cobbled woven fabrics…and the colorway is pretty earthy yet still extremely wearable. The front panel and tongue is black, along with the lining around the heel. The side panel and heel is a light brown. And, like always these sneakers feature an awesome vulcanized sole, which is what I always love about most Vans…if you skate, skate a vulcanized sole…way better. Keep an eye out for these to be released soon.

Vans Khaki Pack, Spring ’09

If you haven’t noticed already, Vans likes to release special edition versions of many of their most popular sneakers in special collections…and this is no different, this is the Khaki collection which features many of my favorite sneakers of all time…the Sk8-Hi, Chukka, Slip On and Authentic…only thing missing in my opinion is the Half-Cab. The Half-Cab would have completed this collection for sure. All of these models feature green canvas on the upper panels which are complemented by bronze accents and laces with a bronze stripe that lines the top of the midsole. In my opinion, all of these models are very sick in this colorway. They have a nice casual look to them…nothing crazy at all…they can be appropriate in many instances. The Vans Khaki Collection should be out pretty, so keep your eyes peeled…in the mean time, you can check out other Vans Sneakers on eBay in the store.

Vans x Bad Brains Sk8 Hi

Here is a sneaker I can really appreciate and be stoked on. This is the latest special edition Sk8 Hi from Vans…like the past musically inspired Sk8 Hi’s like the Iron Maiden’s, these pay homage to another really, really, really sick band…BAD BRAINS. These bad boys feature a bright yellow lightning bolt across both side panels which is an obvious reference to the band’s self titled album, Bad Brains. This was a very special and talented group…they were made up of four African Americans that became one of the first bands to be influenced by all forms of music; reggae, hardcore, rock and most notably punk. They also had a great message to accompany their music…they were known for standing up against racism. This band has blurred the line between music and skateboarding in many instances, but most recently in the Lakai Footwear video, Fully Flared. Their song, “Don’t Bother Me,” played during Anthony Pappalardo’s part…one of my favorite parts in the video. Check out Anthony’s part in the video below and enjoy the aggressive, and enjoyable sounds of Bad Brains…and pick up their sneakers…i’m sure they’re getting a cut somehow.

Vans Caballero, 20th Anniversary Collection

Steve Caballero is usually synonymous with the classic Vans sneaker, the Half Cab…undoubtedly one of the biggest sneakers in the game…but the Vans Caballero is another one of the most legendary sneakers to come out of the Vans camp. This sneaker was originally introduced in 1989, and now the Steve Caballero signature model is back in order to celebrate the 20th anniversary! This shoe has been re-released in three sick colorways as part of a very special pack. The shoe will come out in black/white/red, charcoal/white and black/white/ultra-violent versions. Another cool detail of these sneakers is that every version will have the Roman numeral XX stitched into the heel and the years “1989-2009″ below it.
